On July 1st and 2nd, 2010, there was a gathering on the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas of UNAM, on Mexico City, Federal District, of some of the most prestigious periodic publications of constitutional law. Having in mind that the scientific production they have produced constitutes a serious advance in the study of constitutional law: Pensamiento Constitucional; Quaderni Costituzionali: rivista italiana di diritto costituzionale; Revista Brasileira de Direito Constitucional; Revista de Derecho del Estado, Revista de la Academia brasileira de Direito Constitucional; Revista Española de Derecho Constitucional; Revista General de Derecho Constitucional; Revue Française de Droit Constitutionnel, and Cuestiones Constitucionales Revista Mexiana de Derecho Constitucional. The publications of Gurisprudenza Costituzionalle and Estudios Constitucionales could not attend the meeting, but informed their clear intention to be an important element of this joint labor.
The assistants to this First Meeting boarded mainly the elemental aspects of the reviews editorial life, to such effort that implies hours of work of several persons, difficulties that arise on the road and have to be met, the permanent preoccupation to maintain seriousness of the articles to publish and, also, the anxiety to always go into public life on time.
On present days, there is no doubt that technology applied to the means of communications has provoked a vertiginous change that has crucially impacted on the generation and diffusion of information. Knowledge, in general, and juridical knowledge in particular, has experimented a great revolution. Only accessing to a web page to know the content of a juridical review or book, or to be maintained updated in what is happening in the world.
In this line of ideas, and with particular emphasis on the similar editorial effort to what we are doing, it was logical and necessary to think about an instrument that allows us a quick and fluid communication between reviews with a clear intention to make activities that strength us; a medium of communication that allows us to share information or even generate it in order to achieve advances in the constitutional science.
So was how it was decided to create the CONSTITUTIONAL LAW SPECIALIZED REVIEWS NETWORK (Red de Revistas Especializadas en Derecho Constitucional), with seat in the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, an open space to which would be incorporated the specialized reviews on the topic that would want to do so, a place in which we could share experiences constantly, and in short, a network that would maintain us closer.
